continues until hot water becomes available at your hot
tap. The Water Guardian automatically detects a
temperature rise in the water and turns itself off. Hot
water is available at the tap as soon as it is turned
on.

very quiet.
Positioning the EcoSmart Water
Guardian
It is essential that the EcoSmart Water Guardian is
positioned at the furthest fitting (hot water tap) from
the hot water system. Typically, this is either the
ensuite, bathroom or the kitchen.
It is important that both the hot
and cold water pressure is equalised to ensure product
performance. The easiest way to do this is to install a
pressure limiting device at the water main. Any other
pressure limiting devices further down the line must
then be removed.
Specifying the size of the
EcoSmart Water
Guardian
There are 5 considerations when selecting
the size of your EcoSmart Water Guardian

Determine
whether you are retrofitting to an existing home
or it's a new home installation.

If the distance from the hot
water system to the furthest tap is more than 20
meters, select a large unit.

If the distance from the hot
water system to the furthest tap is less than 20
meters, select a small unit.

If you have a continuous flow gas
hot water system, you must select the large
unit.

If in doubt,
select a large
unit.
 In a
new home installation, a dedicated return line is
installed between the furthest fixture and the
water heater. The Water Guardian is
installed within this line. Note:
Install the Water Guardian as close to
the last fixture as possible for the greatest
efficiency. |
In a retrofit installation, the
cold line is used as the line to recirculate the
cooled water. Water Guardian works off a
temperature rise, so only cooled water enters this
line. Note: Install the Water
Guardian as close to the last fixture as
