PV solar panels
There are several types of PV solar cells,
different material combinations have different levels of
efficiency in converting sunlight to electricity.
Monocrystalline Silicon based cells have dominated grid
connection systems to date and have endured the test of
time and have been used in the harsh environment of
space.
Monocrystalline
Silicon - 12-15% efficiency ratings.
Polycrystilline
Silicon - 11-14%, efficiency ratings.
PV solar panels are generally warranted at having
a life of 20-25 years, but are likely to still be
working in 40 years, although at a much lower level of
efficiency.
Not all
Photovoltaic Panels are created
equal.
SolarGreen
uses Suntech Solar Panels. They were designed by Dr.
Zhengrong Shi who studied at the University of NSW
before launching into a worldwide business of solar
energy panels.
In researching
solar panel products you will find Suntech has one of
the highest module efficiency ratings and lowest power
tolerance difference.
STP175s-24/ac
module efficiency of 14.1% power tolerance
+-3%
What this
means is that the Suntech panels produce more
electricity, as much as 38Kwh more per year, over other
panels of the same size. Add to this a 25 year warranty
and there's no question as to why Suntech solar modules
are among the best selling, best performing, most
reliable products on the
market.
When comparing panels and
power tolerances a small percentage can make a big
difference in your power output. This is your minimum
warranty, guaranteed output. Suntech’s 175w panel warranty is to produce
169.75 watts.
Other modules
are -5% so their warranty is 166.25w, if you have 6
panels they produce 997.5 watts! You tell me is that
1Kw? No.
Suntech
panels – 175W – 3% = 169.75W x 6 panels
=1018.5W
Other panels - 175W
– 5% = 166.25W x 6 panels = 997.5W
The difference
times 5 hours a day = 105W more per day and 38Kw more
per year, and that does not take into account the
modules efficiency will produce more on days that are
overcast and cloudy than other
panels.
We know you
want a quality product, SolarGreen with Suntech panels
will produce more power for the same 1Kw rated
system.
Inverters
Optimal design of
a PV-system includes the selection of an inverter that
perfectly matches the power of the PV modules.
SolarGreen uses two of the industry
standards; SMA and Fronius
inverters.

SMA’s,
Sunny
boy, line
of inverters have been installed in over 30,000 PV
systems and are one of the most successful devices
from SMA. They consist of innovative technology
and are now available with the universal grid
monitoring unit grid guard 2. This ensures maximum
safety for the operation of your plant and the
feeding to nearly any utility in the world.

The
FRONIUS
IG series
has proven itself to be powerful, user-friendly
and highly reliable. Equipped for every size of PV
system, especially for smaller systems (e.g. on
the roof of one-family houses). The combination of
different types available for selection is
limitless. The ingenious processor control
combined with the powerful HF transformer extracts
the maximum energy yield from all types of
modules.
